How I spent my "lumpy" birthday

Why do I call it a LUMPY birthday?
Because when your birthday is as late as December 19, everyone wants to LUMP IT in with Christmas!
Aggravates the hell out of me.
I knew my family was going to take me to dinner and actually give me a celebration that was separate from Christmas, so I tried to ignore people whose idea of wishing me Happy Birthday was to giggle "guess you just celebrate it together with Christmas".
Worst of all are the people who sent me a Christmas card and then just scribbled underneath "have a happy birthday, too." That is about as TACKY as you can get.
I was only born once.  I have one birthday per year. I deserve to feel special on that day, not LUMPED.
Thanks for letting me speak my mind.
I am doing relatively well with my goal of maintaining weight during the holidays.  Average American gains 7 lbs. between Halloween and New Year's.  My clothes would not fit with another 7 lbs.!!
I had ordered a 3 pack of panties. Although they were the same size, same style, same manufacturer and came together in the same pack, they were NOT UNIFORM. One pair was roomy, one fit perfectly, and the third was a little tight. Happy to say that even the snug pair is being worn by me right now! So I haven't gained in measurement either!
Wishing you all wonderful holidays.

My birthday is on the 19th too! And my daughter\'s is on the 20th. I always tell her that \"isn\'t it nice how everyone decorates their houses up just for us?!\" and make her day very special and separate from Christmas. So I hear you - I do appreciate when people separate it. I am also very thankful our birthdays are not following Christmas or New Year\'s, when everyone is worn out and no one feels festive.
I guess I was following Joyce around again! Sorry to jump in on a journal! Was excited to see another December 19th-er!!! I love my birthday and I love the number 19. Very festive and fun time of year. Happy belated birthday wishes to you! Glad you had a supper out :)

Yes, I did have a nice dinner out. A fish and shrimp entree with rice pilaf. Afterwards we went to an historic and posh hotel called The Jefferson to see their decorations. Among other things, they have a HUGE train made of gingerbread and candy! No eating allowed, just looking!

I am happy you had a happy Birthday. Separate from Christmas . I think it \'s horrible if people lump it in with the holidays. You are right about having it be treated separate. You should be made to feel special. the people who say oh i guess you celebrate on Christmas must think you get together with family and celebrate another day. if not they are mean and thoughtless people.

Train made out of gingerbread and candy sounds so pretty. Did you happen to take a picture of it? :)
