How I lost 30 lbs in 6 months
Well first the weather got warmer so it got me outside more. I like to be outside doing things and keeping busy so the warmer weather helped.
I decided to make a life change because at 207 lbs and increasing I needed to do something to take the weight off. The first thing I did was cut back my soda drinking to one a day, in the first month I lost 10 lbs just from stopping the soda, then I reduce my calories intake, I did not count the calories I just stop eating so much I just cut back on the portion size of everything I ate, that way I knew that I was taking in less. I did make sure that I was burning more calories then I was taking in. Plus I made sure that I was eating more healthily foods more whole grains and fruit and stuff like that.
The next thing I did was start walking more while at work instead of eating for lunch I went for a walk 15 minutes walk one way then turn around and walk back that was my half hour lunch I tried to do that about 3 days a week unless I had some running to do. Plus I would walk for half hour or more at night about hour before bed. My golden rule was not to eat anything after 8:00 pm. The weekend was where I lost most of my weight because I was able to work hard and still do my walk at night. I still walk every night I try to get in around 45 minutes a night.
I did have a advantage to help me along that was I had nervous energy that I had to try to burn off for I could get a good night sleep, also when I went for a walk during work I was also doing that for the same reason to much energy and I needed to do something. Now I am up to waling about 4 miles a day.
To tell you the truth I really don’t feel any better with the weight off, but I happy that the weight is off and I know it’s going be a life long work to keep the weight off but that what life is all about. I figure that to loss the weight I had to make the life change not go on a diet just change the way I live so it was more natural way of doing it. It took me years to put the weight on so I figure it would take some time to take it off. I still have to work on my gut my plan is to work on my gut during the winter I am going to work on that more so by next spring I am hoping to be around 170 lbs with no gut that’s my goal anyways.
