How do you fight the battle?

You know the absolute best thing about the fifth chemo? It's that when you are getting six chemos, you only have one more to go till you're done.  Yep - my mom only has one more chemo to go. I've  watched her go from surgery to diagnosis and staging, losing her hair, even a bit of depression. But you know what? She made it. She's almost over that major hurdle of finishing the dreaded chemo.
She is an amazing woman, my mom. She's continued to work. She's continued to ask how I'm doing - imagine that. She's sewed baby clothes for her great granddaughter who was just born two days ago. Lord knows that my mom doesn't look anywhere near old enough to be a great grandmother. Even after chemo, even without hair (yes, she let me have a peak and yes, she is still beautiful without hair!). Even after cancer. Even at her worst, she is at her best.
In her strength, my mom has given me strength. And it isn't because she's winning this battle. It's because of the way she's fought the battle. Always giving it her best, like she's always done. Always teaching me a lesson as I watch her live her life.
Mom, you're an inspiration. Did I tell you that I love you? I wanted you to know that I'm proud of you for the way you've fought this battle. And I'm glad you're winning.
And yes, God, I do believe in miracles.
