HOW DO OTHER WOMEN FEEL ABOUT THIS?
RED IS THE COLOR OF ANGER AND THAT'S HOW I FEEL. ANGRY AT MYSELF AND ANGRY AT MEN. I THOUGHT I HAD GOTTEN PRETTY GOOD AT IGNORING JERKS. NOT LETTING THEM INFLUENCE MY MOOD. THIS TIME I LET A STUPID, SEXIST, DISGUSTING JOKE AFFECT NOT ONLY MY MOOD BUT MY BEHAVIOR. I HAD JOINED A GROUP CALLED CLUB FUNNY BONE. I HAVE SINCE RESIGNED MY MEMBERSHIP, SINCE MY SENSE OF HUMOR DOES NOT SEEM TO COINCIDE WITH THE JUVENILE, VULGAR POSTINGS I SEE ON THERE. WISH I HAD RESIGNED BEFORE I READ THIS ONE!!! "WHY DOES A WOMAN HAVE TWO SETS OF LIPS? TOP PAIR IS FOR ARGUING, BOTTOM PAIR IS FOR APOLOGIZING." DOES ANYBODY ELSE FIND THAT OFFENSIVE OR AM I OVER-REACTING? GUESS IT'S WHAT THE JOKE REPRESENTED TO ME. MEN'S TOTAL LACK OF RESPECT FOR WOMEN, OUR MINDS, OUR BODIES, AND OUR SEXUALITY. ESPECIALLY OFFENSIVE TO ME IS MEN'S PREOCCUPATION (OBSESSION IN MANY CASES) WITH "TITS AND ASS", "HOOKERS", AND "PORN". THEY TOTALLY DESTROY THE BEAUTY AND MEANING OF SEX. BUT THEN MAYBE I'M THE LAST OF A DYING GENERATION. THERE ARE TWO THINGS I HATE THE WORST. ONE IS THE TERM "BLOW JOB" AND THE OTHER IS THE TERM "PIECE OF ASS". IF A MAN USES EITHER OF THOSE TERMS IN MY PRESENCE, I AM THROUGH WITH HIM, LOSE ALL RESPECT FOR HIM. IN MY WORST MOMENTS, I FEEL WE SHOULD EXTERMINATE MALES AT PUBERTY. FREEZE A BATCH OF THEIR SPERM, AND THEN BLOW THEM AWAY.THEN WE WOULDN'T HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT RAPE, BEATINGS, AND ALL THE OTHER THINGS MEN BLAME ON THEIR TESTOSTERONE. WE ARE BAMBOOZLED BY MOTHER NATURE INTO THINKING WE NEED THEM.WE ARE BAMBOOZLED BY MADISON AVENUE INTO THINKING DIAMONDS ARE FOREVER. LET'S FACE IT, MEN ARE FILTHY, DISGUSTING PIGS. OKAY, I'VE HAD MY RANT.

Like any social network there are bound to be some jerks out there and DS is no exception. I too have found some discussions crossing my own thoughts what constitutes personal boundaries. Just ignore these guys. I don\'t think all men are filthy, disgusting pigs. There are some fine men out there.

That\'s what they keep telling me -- there are some good guys out there, but I\'m too battle-scarred to care. I do feel there are more good women being abused by men than the other way around.
There ARE some good men out there. That joke was vulger and disgusting as are the men that would disrespect women in that way.
I agree... mostly... Now before my saying that offends you, let me expound. That joke WAS in poor taste; however, in a lighter sense there is the aspect of sometimes couples argue so they can \"kiss and makeup\" and everyone makes up differently right? It could have meant something more innocent like that. I realize the joke put all the blame on the woman and made her an object. Sensitivities may be heightened a bit in this DS site and especially amongst those of us who are divorced. (I\'m no different and am more sensitive about some subjects than others.) I do understand why you were offended and you took the right move to leave that group - we can choose to what we want to expose ourselves. I agree with Behavewell - not all men are rotten and I actually think there are more quality, good men than not - just not always easy to find them. Here\'s a quip for you and although I don\'t personally wish this, it might cheer you up a little. \"If a man can go to the moon... why can\'t all men go to the moon?\" :) Hugs to you!
I\'m with you , I would have been offended with that too. I have left different groups here on DS what I did\'t appreciate the lanugage used. I might be a old fuddy duddy(I\'m not that old) but I was raised with certain principles and have hung onto them. The human body is a beautiful thing and should be treated with respect in all things.
I think the most important part of what I said is: men destroy the beauty and meaning of sex. Maybe I\'m the last of a dying generation. It\'s not language per se, it\'s the whole attitude of reducing women to body parts and how those body parts service men. I heard a priest say once, \"We\'re raising a whole generation of people who don\'t know what love is. All they understand is violence and instant gratification.\"
hahaha This is really funny! You sure do have a way with words. I agree, most men are pigs. I let my boyfriend know early on in the relationship I will not tolerate his \"porn viewing\" It disgusts me that most men feel they have the right to enjoy that stuff. (BTW-my bf stopped looking at that garbage so he may well be a keeper:)
