Housing situation
Well here is the update on our housing situation. As many of you know the town house we are renting while in DC has been receiving notices and things taped to the door leading me to believe it was under foreclosure. For about a month in a half I went back and forth with the property management company asking what was going on trying to get some clarification. But they were very vague and said that the owners were not responding to them. They never addressed my issues. Well We have a very good friend that is an attorney and he reviewed our lease and did some research and found out we have every legal right to vacate the property and they cant hold a single dime back. They have $2k in deposits from us. So after I tell them we are moving and such I finally get a response from the property manager. All he says is they were refinancing and got bad advice but will be closing on October 4th. Well Im not a freaking idiot. I still own our home in Ga. I know what happened, they wanted a loan modification and so they stopped paying there mortgage so they would fall behind because I guess you have to be behind to qualify for one. There was no refinance. You don’t go into foreclosure to refinance. If they were up front with us in the beginning then I would have been ok. Still a little mad but ok. It’s the 6 month since we moved in that we have gotten these notices and have been ignored. The lawyer said we still have the law on our side as the law states as soon as they defaulted they needed to notify us within 10 days. I have wanted out of this townhouse since we moved in. Now with #2 on the way we need a bigger place. I sent a certified letter to them advising them that we want out and what not and they have until October 15th to respond and then we will have 30 days to find a new place. Im nervous about another whirlwind move but excited at the prospect of getting to make a nursery. Ian and I are going to Ga from October 21. For 2 weeks. But if we are moving we will be back after my shower on the 29th. Probably stay through Halloween so the grandparents can see Ian trick or treating.
Ian pee peed on the potty tonight for the first time. It was the first time I out him on it with out a diaper. I have been letting him sit on it with clothes on to get use to it and tonight before bath I sat him on it and he went. I went all crazy and celebrated like he just won a super bowl. Then he got some change to feed his piggy as a reward. I showed him how to feed his piggy bank yesterday and now its turned into an obsession. I have to tell him piggy is full and “all done” I’m going to have to get a roll of nickels for him. Lol.

The same thing happened to DH and I 3 years ago when we were renting! About 1 month after we moved in we got notices taped to our door telling us to call this number about the Mortgage. We called the property manager and they played like everything was fine but we knew the owners were in Foreclosure. Anyway, we ended up staying for another 11 months and right when we moved out and bought our own house the house went up for sale by lender. Crazy how people are not upfront about what is going on.
Yeah for Ian on the Potty! Big step for such a big boy! Love the piggy bank story, that\'s so sweet.

Sorry that situation is such a mess. People really do need to be more honest and upfront. I hope you guys find the perfect house so you can make your little girl an adorable nursery! Yay for Ian!! Such a big boy. The piggy bank is so cute. I may have to keep that in mind.
