Hot Humid Summer

Hi  Everyone,  I hope everyone is ok this day.  Sure has been hot in the South of the US. our temp gauge showed 106 on the patio yesterday and so sticky.  We had a cookout planned for some good friends and had put a lot of work into getting everything nice and ready.  Well I looked out and our neighbor was spreading chicken manure on the field over from the house.  My Steve came in the house mad as h___ and said I told you I wanted to sell out and move!!  We have 8 acres and you would think after 42 years we would get used to the smell of chicken crap!! hehe  It rarely smells unless they spread it on the pastures for fertilizer.   I called our neighbor who is a good friend and he said he would wait till later. Well I got Steve calmed down and the dinner party went great. Just some good friends, good food and a good time!
He has his taste right now. He will lose it for about  2 weeks of the month so he makes up for it when he can taste!  We went out to eat the other week at a local steak house and he just closed his eyes smiling and was savoring the taste. I looked around to see who was watching him and wondering what he was doing? LOL.  No really it gives me pleasure to see him enjoy his food like that.  I have not been in the situation of not knowing the taste of food so don't think I am making fun of him.  As a caregiver you feel some of the same things they go thru. 
Steve is actually out with friends today going to a car museum. He will not be back till late and I am so grateful that he feels like going. He started Sutent back last Sunday and the feeling will not last until about another 10 days.. I send you all my love and prayers.  Wanda      (by the way he is on round 41)  thank you Jesus!!!
