Hospital visits--some good news
I went to the Hospital this morning. A church member's mom is 84 years old and has had a twisted bowel for almost a week. She has a very bad heart and her survival rate for surgery is about 20% the Doctor said. They waited as long as they could wait and told us yesterday that if this bowel didn't untwist, that she would die. They started her on some different medication for her heart and placed her in ICU yesterday evening. I had prayer with her before I left and I asked God that she would not have to have surgery. We arrived at the hospital this morning and they had her taking tests for this twisted bowel with a barium test. The barium went all the way through, there is not blockage or twisted bowel this morning. Praise the Lord. While I was there at that ICU, I got a call that 2 more friends of mine had been admitted to ICU in another hospital 45 miles away so, I had prayer with this lady mentioned above and drove to the other hospital to visit the other 2 friends. While I was driving to the other hospital, another lady called me on my cell phone and asked me to come by her house, she had a donation for my church. I went by her house and got the donation. It was a significant amout of money. I then went on to the other hospital and visited my other two friends and had prayer with them, then I came home. God amazes me with the way he blesses me, my church and, allows me the opportunity to be the Pastor and to be able to be a servant of these people who need me. None of these people I mentioned, that are in these hospitals, are members of my church. They are friends I have known for years and their Pastor does not come to see them or visit them. I do. I feel that's what God called me to do. I don't understand Pastors who do not visit the sick, the down and out, etc.I am no-one special, I am just me, just a simple man with a genuine love for people. I don't fit the mold of "modern, Professional Preachers" and you know, I'm glad I don't.

Because being a humanitarian with a genuine soul and kind heart takes front seat to being a Pastor.
A good Pastor has faith, a great Pastor has heart AND faith.
