hospice or home care?

 Hospice or home care?? 

well, i asked my 89 year old mom tonight. . mom, if you ended up getting another uti , would you be willing to go thru it all again? the emergency room, the hospital, the tcu?  she said "of course!"  she said, "the hospital?  what 's so hard about THAT?. (i'm thinking well, it was hard on ME!)  I said , well, they poke ya and prod ya and take blood and wake you up at all hours of the night.  She said, " I want whatever they'll give me "!  

so ..i've decided hospice is probably a bit premature.  we're gonna do home care (at least 2 weeks)  so she can have physical therapy.  and ot. and have lots of people coming and going and looking after her. (i think she was a queen in a past life).  I also said,so, mom. .when you go home, would you want to continue with physical therapy 2x a week to continue to get strong?? or just go home and rest?   she said, "continue to get strong"!  

i'm amazed.  by all counts she should be dead by now.  copd..  no spleen ,  no gall bladder, no uterus.  pneumonia and hospitalized 2x, uti and hospitalized 3x.  

she puts me to shame.  cuz i'm gonna say to anyone who comes to help me< 'go away .  let me die" .
