Horseshoe Lake - Alexander
I have wondered a time or twenty whether I should try to count all the lakes called, "Horseshoe Lake." The shape is a natural by-product of the ever-shifting watersheds and big rivers produce horseshoe-shaped lakes with natural and prolific ease.
When I left the parental home region yesterday morning, I had notions of getting down to business on jumping the river banks and finding my way onto the rivers, themselves, with on-shore Hubs and family. The campsite where I landed isn't among the candidates I had surfed as a place to start. Still, it wasn't hard to justify the lingering under the cypress trees on the edge of the wetland lake so typical of the region. I am still in the heart of the river confluence region. One place to start is as good as another.
The text stream began soon after camp was set up, while I was scavenging for dinner through the plastic tub which serves as my camp pantry. ES and his SO were up at the investment property, attempting to deal with the still unresolved plumbing leak. Hubs was making noise about not wanting to give up on developing the property into more than a line item in family investment portfolio. No, there have been no developments on the co-owner SNAFU which derailed the development back in March.
Sigh. . . This morning finds me wanting to go buy a bra so that I can burn it, just like they did on TV when I was coming of age.
Sorting. . .
