Horray I found a local support group!
As hoped, I'm working towards managing m.s. better;
I made the phone call and contacted a group that meets once a month. I'm really looking forward to it...I got the paper work for SSI finished...I gave my skiis and gear away finally - they went to a good home . I keep my cane with me and use it now rather than walls!!! I am working out a schedule and going to ask about an occupational therapist for soome help.
I'm so glad that I know there are other people out there that share the symptoms and uncertainty of liviing with m.s. I read the entries and profiles and it gives me strength and an odd sense of belonging, thanks everyone.

You have been busy! I have only read about what it takes to complete the SSI application-so-if you got yours done! that\'s huge! You sound like your kickin\' butt and taken names--an in a good place-an Empowering Place.
You say \"You gave your ski gear away\".....I know what it is like to Not be able to do what we once did...I know you\'ll be Blessed by your Grace to \'give\' that which was once some of your favored toy\'s. Right On, Girl! Guess, You could think of that cane, like a ....ski pole! huh :)

I\'m glad you found a local group and are starting to work on managing your MS better. It\'s hard to deal, as we all know. OT(occupational therapy) can be really helpful if you find a good one, others make it seem almost pointless, so if you don\'t like your OT don\'t be hesitant about finding another. Best wishes!
