Hopeful, yet Frustrated!

Well, yesterday I finally got my sh*t together and called a different RE.  The Dr. I really wanted to see didn't have openings until the end of August!!  I can't wait until August so I will be seeing a male Dr. on May 5th.  He has practiced around the world and is currently praciting at the Reproductive Center in Milwaukee.  I have heard good things about the center and also have been told they are more reasonably priced when it comes to procedures, so hopefully if we decide to move to IUI we won't have to pay $1500 a pop! After talking more with my acupuncturist no Friday I really just want a Dr. who will prescribe me Metformin and see what happens.  From the very beginning I thought that I have PCOS, but my first specialist said that he didn't believe so.  My hormone levels all point in that direction, as do every other symptom and sign imaginable!!  My acupuncturist really thinks that Metformin along with the herbs, vitamins, and acupuncture will make the difference that my body needs.  When I called to set up an appt. with just my regular Dr. I was told she is no longer a Family Practioner and has switched solely to internal medicine.  WTF??  This road just seems to get more frustrating as my patience dwindles.  All I want is to be a mom!  Why is that so complicated for us??  I am hopeful that my new Dr. will see something new in my numbers and will let me go on Metformin for a few months to see what happens.   Until then.... maybe God will intervene and we will get pg naturally- who knows.  Getting to be that time of the month to start cracking down on the BD and hope for the best!

I am sorry that you are going through so much frustration trying to find the right doc. This whole process at times can be so overwhelming. I believe you are doing the right thing in finding another RE. It really doesn\'t sound like you are happy with your current one. Lets face it the process itself is bad enough, you shouldn\'t have to go through it with a doc you don\'t feel confident in. I hear you about a male MD. I really didn\'t have a choice so I had to go to a male (and I wasn\'t thrilled about it). To be quite honest it has been fine. He is smart, confident, gentle and respectful. All I am saying don\'t write him off just cuz he is a he. Maybe go to the appointment on May 5th see what you think. I would also make that appt with the other MD in August, you can always cancel if you like the one you meet in May. I\'ll keep you in my prayers. Wouldn\'t it be fantastic if we both got pregnant this month with just good BDing?
