Hope for Me Yet

Today I finally received Karla Downing's book "10 Lifesaving Principles for Women in Difficult Marriages." And I downloaded the accompanying bible study off her website, to make the experience more intense (my brain likes something to chew on!). I just started to read it & so far, so good. Only issue is finding time to do so. The only time, really, is during lunch. However, that does cut into my walking time. Perhaps I can figure something out.

On the Out of the Fog website, I also re-read the section about "Baiting & Picking Fights" in regard to my butting heads yesterday with my son (he was REALLY picking & baiting!). One very important strategy it points out is not to try to talk through/argue logic with the person. They are not interested in logic & reason; they are interested in fighting. How true! I think the thing I need to point out with me is: even though I'm walking away, I'm not allowing him to "get away with it" or win the argument. I must remember: I'm walking away from a fight; peace will win. It's just a pain when he "follows" me with his words--he does not want to let it go! He's like a dog with a bone!

So I know that's something I have to work on.
