Honoring you.....
What we do for ourselves dies with us, what we do for another remains eternal.
Every day I try to honor you with my words and deeds. I truly want to be worthy of spending my eternity with you.
Today I had the honor of presenting the first Gary S***** Memorial Scholarship. The scholarship was awarded to a graduating senior who best exemplifies your work ethic and dedication to others. You would be happy with the young lady that I chose to receive this first scholarship, she was very touched when I presented it to her.
I am so grateful to a special friend that helped get the ball moving on this scholarship this year. In future years she will help with the paperwork and the kids and I will find a way to keep this scholarship funded.
As always sweetheart, I am blowin' kisses to heaven until we once again can walk hand in hand.

What a beautiful tribute. I\'m sure that Gary was smiling down on the presentation and was blowin\' those kisses right back down to you!
In a similar, but far less prestigious vein, a group of my late husband\'s former co-workers and I are throwing him the Irish Wake he always said he wanted. It will be held at the local pub restaurant where the same people celebrated his retirement four years ago. I will be bringing along a couple of boxes of mementos, books and knick-knacks for them to choose from. The Irish Wake idea is even more amusing if you know that my husband was Jewish!
This is fantastic! His legacy will live forever through the worthy students that recieve this scolarship and future generations. It is a wonderful way for you to show the world the the great man you loved. I used to be in charge of fundraising for an art guild in Georgia and I have some pretty good ideas for generating funds if you are interested. Your love for him grows more each time you honor him. He must have been a terrificly admirable man.
What a beautiful way to carry on the lagacy of such a fine man!!! AND the woman who loves him!
Through this for years to come his legacy will be alive and well and doing wonderful things on this earth in his name, along with the beautiful lady who is keeping that legacy going and going and going!!!1
BIG BIG HUGS to you and that young lady? she will ALWAYS know who helped her make HER mark in this \'dash\" we all have.
Diane
This is an awesome legacy! I did the same for my Bud as he was a high school English teacher for 49 years! This was the first year for his scholarship as well and I choose a young man who serves others by being a First Responder in the community. Besides being an outstanding student, this young man wants to help others throughout life and I found that made me choose him. What a great memorial to leave for our husbands while helping others! Big hug - Gail
