Honoring Colleen's life.
I have been thinking a lot about my life without Colleen, and I realized one huge truth: I'm a better person, because of Colleen!
She taught me the depths of unconditional love and caring. I learnt how to still operate past the point of being dead tired, with a meaningful smile on my face. Impossible things and situations became possible, and communicating without words were as easy as breathing.
When Colleen passed, my whole life turned into a disaster zone. But then this thought came to me: I can honor Colleen's life by sharing all the beauty she taught me, with others around me! Almost like a breast-feeding mom, who decided to give her precious milk to other babies who need it. This way I can feel close to Colleen, for as long as I live!
I am glad that my precious angel is free from sickness and suffering, and that she is perfect and happy with Jesus now. But I miss her so very much! Each time I look at the sky, I think of the day when we will be reunited again. This thought always makes me smile. Until then, I will keep honoring her life by being the person she helped me to become.

Oh what a marvelous, inspiring, and beautiful journal to read this morning!!!!
YES! YES! YES! We can and we do honor our amazing children each time we reach out to share LOVE energy with another.
You have SO much to give, and you give your heart so openly and freely.
THANK YOU!
We will forever miss them, and we will forever honor them with our LIVING life to the fullest in the midst of it all.
Love to you!
Love to Colleen!
as the song says..... I have been changed for good,,, because I know you....
the song is \"For Good: from Wicked..... great piece,,says it just right.... love ya!
Yes!
I was talking to my therapist yesterday, discussing how God answered my prayer for A CHILD TO RAISE (not a \'baby\', a child to raise) and that her \"imperfections\" were part of MY journey. Any child born with any imperfection, Downs syndrome, Asperger\'s, cerebral palsy, mental illness...these children are not only fulfilling God\'s purpose with their presence here, but teaching others to do the same. So I have become the woman I always wanted to be because of my daughter, as have you. We honor our daughters\' lives by acknowledging this and giving the love and patience, the affection and generosity of spirit, we learned for them to others who need it. It is a difficult path, yes, but I wouldn\'t have it any other way. I know it\'s hard without them, I know also we anticipate reunion, but we have done something and are doing something so many do not do: we are turning the struggle into a victory. We are \"counting it all joy\".
What an amazing & inspirational journal!
Thank you for sharing your thoughts and your beautiful Colleen. Love and peace, Linda, Ed\'s mom
Colleen and you chose one another and I am deeply touched to read this most heartfelt journal today, thank you.
It takes time to get to this place on the path where the thoughts begin to include our children\'s lives and not just their transition. I know that it did for me as well and to honor Colleen by living your life to its fullest is the gift.
Thank you for sharing your gift of a daughter and as you unwrap her slowly I hope that each layer feels even that much more precious.
The heart language you shared without the words as you describe I know and it\'s the only one worth learning in my opinion. What an amazing mother YOU are and dear Colleeen, continues to plumb the depths within you of what truly matters... What a teacher she IS and you are an eager student. I feel it so very strongly.
Hand in hand and Heart to heart,
XO Joanie
