Honey

So while my pear trees and bluberries are suffering from a lack of bees to help them reproduce, but I made a new friend in a way, I never could have predicted.

I know most of my neighbors who are within close proximaty to me but most everyone else on my road are complete strangers to me, but I am friendly to all realizing we are all connected and wave to most of the cars during my walks. Even though I know not their names, I talk to them like I have always known them, like the girl with the two dogs, the man on the bike who picks bottles and cans and donates the money to the humane society, the young man who works as a chef and goes for walks in the evening.  There are so many others.  Some who have past on that I also loved having casual conversations with...They are all like me having had a hard life at times.

While on a walk back in early april, a car stopped and asked me if I liked honey. I said I love honey. He said he would bring me some.  I later discovered he was a bee keeper who lives only about a mile down the road from me.... I forgot all about it but this morning a car pulled into my driveway while I was outdoors and it was the man with the honey!  I was surprised and I offered to pay but he would not take my money for the honey!  We talked for awhile and he went on his way. I still don't know his name but I know where he lives. Now I can visit, my new friend!

God Bless

Oh, life's wonderful when you are kind and it's great to have moments where you know you are friends with another person who loves nature!

My hubby talks to everyone. He recently met a lady and exchanged numbers. When he found out how long she actually can talk for he handed the phone to me. I told him that is now his new friend not to give me the phone again, lol. That was really nice of him to bring you honey. Honey is one of my favorite things to cook with.

I'm so glad your out meeting new people! These pleasant people are sent from God! We never meet people by chance.
You brought up fruit....I have a small BlackBerry plant I bought and it's still in the original pot from Lowes. It just doesnt seem to want to bear any fruit though...do you think it needs a bigger pot?

They grow fruit the second year and then the top of the plant dies and another one grows out of the root. Then you gotta wait until the second year to grow more fruit.

Look at the drainage holes on the bottom and if you see roots growing out of them, it may need to be replanted in a bigger pot.

Good luck with that!

If you lived closer to me, I would share. There is about a half gallon jar in my cupboards which will take me a long time to use up.

That's such a nice story. Made my bad day better. Made me think of my neighbors. Once I moved the chickens in I started passing out eggs. Now my hens are getting veggie scraps from multiple sources. It's nice...

Socializing like that, even if it's just a smile or a wave, makes me feel like a member of the human race.

What you do for yur neighbors is something I would do and vice versa.

I love talking to my neighbors. We wave when they drive past. We don't have any close neighbors since we live in the Country.
