homeless cats even make fun of me

Last night, past midnight, I went into my yard to try, for millionth time to trap a homeless cat, to get it neutered---only to see a baby skunk outside!  And it was definitely a skunk, nonchalantly walking away, not some scaredy cat zooming off.  I even walked a little closer, to see the skunk still standing nearby, instead of it, thankfully, not walking to the sidewalk, the main drag of my hometown.
So, I set the cat trap on the roof outside my kitchen, where 3 homeless cats walk up steps for me to feed them.  After five in the morning I noticed the can of food in the trap was gone--and one of the cats was seated outside the trap.  I then put some more food on a paper towel, in the trap, hoping to catch the cat---only to find, minutes later, that food was gone, and a second cat was outside the trap.
I put a 3rd helping of food in the trap, the 2nd cat went inside---but the other door of the trap sprung shut, which made the cat dart outside.  So, I wound up feeding these two, and have two others to feed later.
I guess I can be glad I didn't accidently trap the skunk---how to free some poor skunk without it defensively smelling you up?!

TroJanThunder,

thankfully, the music ended, after I called the landlord....I\'m more used to nicely asking the cats to go away, after I feed them, with # 4 of the bunch just getting fed five minutes ago.

LivingWater,

I don\'t think of the 4 homeless cats around me as being very smart, as much as me being too dumb for them;)

Well at least the landlord defended you once!
