Home Alone
So I have been having the hormone injections for the last 3 nights and tonight I have to do it all by myself...eek! I am such a baby when it comes to giving myself the injections-I did it last night but it took some serious coersion from the husband.
So far, I have noticed feeling a little low-but that could just be my general frame of mind right now...things are pretty stressful here with my husband about to sit his final exams and I am having issues at work which isn't making life any easier. I am also feeling really low about my weight-not sure that the hormones are helping with that....the thing is, I am doing so much exercise...ok not as much as I used to....I limit myself to five sessions per week at the moment-simply on the advice of the fertility docs and at the repeated request of my husband. I feel like I am reasonably fit-but since I saw something on the Whole 30-a complete revamp of ideas on food, it has been on my mind that I should really do something like that. I am not sure that it is the right time to be undergoing such a dramatic change (if you know anything about it, the big change for me would be cutting out legumes and dairy). My husband is really resistant to the idea as he is a huge bread lover and has never had a weight problem (he is literally about 5% body fat if that!) He is doggedly clinging to the idea that we have a very healthy balanced diet and according to his medical research is the ideal one for an optimum lifestyle. Ugh I don't why I am writing so much about this, I guess it has been weighing on my mind!! I guess I can compromise by phasing food out-kind of like the reverse of the whole 30..will see!
Anyway, it is 90 mins til I have to give myself the injection...wish me luck!

How\'d sticking yourself go? There were a few women on here who had to do the PIO shots themselves when their DHs went out of town, and I greatly admired them. I don\'t think I could have! I hope it went well :)
Are you going in for a retrieval or a transfer? Be prepared -- at some point, your RE will have you stop working out so as not to overstress your body (ER) or for your TTW (ET). It\'ll be hard (I\'m a runner and strength trainer), but it\'s what\'s best for your body. Walking and stretching will be your new best friends for a while :)
Ya I managed to stick myself fine...the injections don\'t hurt at all....I do cheat though, by icing the area first. The one time I didn\'t ice the skin before and after, the injection stung a little. My husband is starting to get really distressed by doing the injections (go figure-he is a doctor and is constantly jabbing people!) so I think I am going to have to start doing them myself for a bit. (He has his final exams coming up this week so hisstress levels are sky high!)
I have already spoken to the fertility docs and they have said my exercise levels are fine as long as I don\'t start anything new....the second week of our two week wait is when we are on Holiday in Malaysia so I don\'t intend to be doing too much exercise then (just alot of reading and relaxing!) I have also started doing some yoga and swimming so I am hoping that will get me through!
