Home again
It is 2:30 am. Another night of insomnia.
The two weeks in Ottawa went by so fast. Joe and I got as many cuddles as we could in 2 weeks. It took awhile before Cevyn was comfortable leaving the babes with us. On the second Monday, she and Brendan went skiing so we got the girls to ourselves for the day. We came home on Wednesday. I miss them already.
I got to see a couple of friends while we were there. One of my nursing classmates lives about 3 hours away. She and her husband drove up for lunch and to meet the babies. They met Cevyn several years ago when she was 10 or 11. I am sure they were surprised. Cevyn is a bit dramatic and arrived heavily made up. Lynda had Sierra on her lap for most of lunch.
Like most special times, I can't feel really happy; there is that huge hole in my heart. Lisa should be here to dote on those beautiful babies. It hurts that they won't know their phenomenal grandmother.
Now we are back home. Back to normal.
I have a friend in Washington State. We got to know one another when we shared a house in Istanbul. We have kept in touch. She left Turkey as it is just not as safe as it has been. She was in China for awhile but is back in the USA and feeling at loose ends and a bit depressed. I think she may come and stay with us for awhile. It will be so good to catch up in person!
Never a dull moment.
Lisa: You would be so very proud of Cevyn - she is a loving mom. She is like you. She was adamant that she wasn't going to have children. She also has your spunk. I think you would really like Brendan. I miss you always and love you forever. Mummy

What a special time with those little cuties! So glad they are doing well. It is wonderful but it is always a bit bittersweet. Love and hugs!
So glad you had such a good time! The babies are beautiful & I know that you & Joe cherished every minute you could spend with them! Hope your friend from WA. gets to come visit you; it'll help the rest of winter go by faster. Sending love! XO
Grateful you are home safe and sound and yes, a both/and kind of experience of feeling happiness and the sadness that Lisa is not with you in the ways always hoped and longed for.
It feels as if a visit from your friend would be great and lift you both. We all need things to look forward to.
Loving care dearest Marlene and I'm sure Joe and YOU are the most adorable great-grandparents ever. Just sayin' :)
Hand in hand, Heart to heart,
XO Joanie
Hi Marlene, I know what a joy these great grandchildren are but I feel the bittersweet when I am with mine. Lisa and Ed should be here to enjoy their grandchildren.
Sending you understanding hugs and much love to you and precious Lisa, Linda
Oh the joy of your new grandbabies, I am so very happy for you. Lisa is just beaming for sure. It is not right that she is not here for this. Sending you some peace and hugs, Kathy
So happy that you are home safe, but on the other hand, part of you is with those precious little one's. Life is bittersweet, isn't it? It is great to have grandchildren and you with your great grandbabies, however there is always a major part missing, and that is your Lisa & my Jennifer.
I hear your heart.....so grateful that you are able to visit and had a whole day with those babies by yourself....SIGH
Those babies will know all about Lisa as they grow up as only you will be able to tell them. They are blessed to have YOU! ((((hugs))) Vicki
I know it feels like you need more baby time. I am always happy to see the grandies and now that they are 11, sometimes glad to see them go. when they were babies they were my babies also. Baby withdrawl is the worst LOL They will be in your heart no matter how far away they are. Just smile and think of the cute faces they make.
Big tight hugs
Penny
