Holidays = Anxiety

The past month Ive had anxiousness over July 4th.  When holidays start to creep near I get anxious over what if any plans to make.

I have made and not kept my plans and always seem to talk myself out of anything and wind up unhappy because I didn't keep promise to myself.  If I don't keep promises to myself, who will?

MY beau will be out of town all 4th of July week, so I have been trying to plan activities to stay busy.  One night, will be a binge tv

night since I never get the tv to myself.  One day will be an artwalk event downtown with a meetup group and then on the 4th I wanted to spend my day at the beach with a good book (Suggestions PLEASE), and eat a late dinner and stay for for fireworks.

I so wish want to keep these plans.  I need to start being good to myself for once.

Holidays make me anxious, too. People are crazy enough without the added pressure to be whatever way the given holiday says you oughta be. Give me a fucking break. . .

Still, I feel combatively anxious when I go anti-holiday. Oh, for the love of balance.

Book suggestion:
Anything Toni Morrison. Has she ever written a bad book? "The Bluest Eye" and "A Mercy" are fighting for my favorite spot, but I might have to read all her books again, just to be sure.
