Holiday Blues
I know this time of the year is so hard on a lot of us. Wishing we could have the love of our children. Wanting to spend precious time with them. Feeling like we've lost the love of our lives. I too, am broken hearted about how my sons have turned their back on me. I try not to think about it. I try to enjoy the time I have with my daughter and grandchildren. I reflected today, on the days, when I was raising my children. I know I made some mistakes along the way and would do anything if I could go back in time and change them but I can't. Furthermore, I don't know of any other that hasn't made mistakes and feels the same way. I also remember, Always, giving my children a nice Christmas, Easter, Birthday. I remember too well, going to all the school functions, being so proud of my little one, in the school play or defending them at a school meeting, picking them up from a field trip. I remember, sitting in the cold, watching a football game and my little guy running over to me on the sideline. I remember cooking them a good meal every night, nursing them when they were sick, taking them to concerts and to the beach. I remember, going to court with them, community service and even jail. No matter what they did, how old they got, how much they disrespected me, I was always there. Always giving and fixing whatever I could. You know what! I was a good mom:) I did what I was supposed to do and still am, because I still love them, unconditionally, with all my heart. As a matter of fact, they are my heart! I hope, for Christmas this year, you all realize, that we all make mistakes we wish we could take back but we also were there and did the very best we could and although we can't be with the ones we love so dearly right now, doesn't mean it's forever. Stop blaming yourself and think of it as, maybe a phase. A season in our lives that we and our children must grow in some way. I pray that one day, we will all have our Christmas wish! God Bless you all and never lose faith!

What a beautiful journal entry! You have such a wonderful sweet spirit and it shines in your writing. Our children have hurt themselves, because like you said, we love them unconditionally. So sad. May God heal our families and our hearts. Merry Christmas to you and your precious family. (BIG HUGS)
