Holiday
I am starting to get the holiday blues. Christmass stuff has been out for awhile, this is no longer my favorite time of year. Now that the twins are 13 and not wanting to come over the Grams house as much. They always had the job nndecorating the tree. After Mike left this earth the tree was no longer as meaning full. The cooking the family it isnt fun without him. I cannot believe this Christmass will be #10 This time of year it can feel just like yesterday.
Mike keep an eye on your Dad, he is slowly slipping away I do not have any control I need to know you have his back and mine.

Understanding how the holidays can and do feel dearest Penny. Just do what feels likes okay in the moment and even that I know changes. We have simplified Christmas so much to a wreath that we hang on our lanai and a Creche that I have had since I was a little girl. Everything else we gave away before we moved because we knew that storing that kind of thing just wouldn't work because of the high humidity. It makes it simple that's for sure, yet the tenderness of the days always lingers and you have Mike's angel anniversary right around that time.
You are grieving much dearest Penny, with Mike slipping away, your life partner, and the loneliness and reality that is coming with that and knowing too that it will be the decade year. The decade year really kicked my backside this year in more ways than one.
Sending so much love and the tightest of heart (((hugs))) to wrap you up in as you navigate another holiday season without your Mike. These children of ours are deeply LOVED and sorely MISSED always.
I'm with you always and I care~
XO Joanie
Oh my dear Penny. I wish there was a way to make it better.
Christmas has never been the same. It will be 9 years. Christmas is just a day now. I cook a turkey but really it is just another day, Lisa loved Christmas. We would always go shopping on Christmas eve for the last bits and pieces..
My live is a roller coaster right now. I have spent a lot of time on an airplane since June. To Europe and back in June. To Ottawa and back in September. To Thunder Bay and back a couple of weeks ago. We are off to Ottawa again on the 5th of November to help celebrate the twins' 2nd birthday on the 12th.
I didn't miss much about the retreat except for the people I love to catch up with e.g. you!
I am so sorry to hear that you are losing your hubby slowly. It is so hard to watch someone fade away.
I hope Lisa and Mike are celebrating and enjoying themselves away from the trials and tribullations.
Love and tight hugs, Marlene
Totally understand. I think the holiday's are drastically different for all of us. Took me years to put up a tree, only did then because Torrey had a fiance' who had kids. Kids sure make a difference, don't they? Then for whatever reason, I put up a cute, very small, tree last year and never took it down. It sits right where I put it, fully decorated with things the kids made in school and some of the gifts from FMO moms. I think my initial thought was to leave it up and decorate it for each season/celebration throughout the year, however, that didn't happen. Good news I suppose is it's ready to go for Christmas.
I'm so very sorry for all your dear husband has gone through, and still is, and what's yet to come. And I'm praying hard for peace and strength and truthfully.....I just tell The Great Spirit, "I don't even know how to pray, what to pray, I just know I don't want my friend to hurt". God knows our hearts and knows our thoughts, even if we don't. So, know that I don't have awesomely worded prayers, but I do pray for you and Mike. I love you Penny!
And I believe with all that is in me, Mike IS aware and is waiting for his dads arrival with more LOVE energy than we can even imagine! It gives my heart comfort, I pray it gives yours comfort as well.
Tightest of heart hugs sweet friend~

I so get it - Holidays for me, no matter how much I try, will never be the same - I'm sorry to hear that you are losing your hubby. I will continue to pray for peace and comfort for your heart during this season.
Hugs to you Penny - Vicki
Right there with you. It was so good to hug you, hope you can still feel it. You are a hero, still standing, still fighting through it all. Prayers for you all, Wish i could help. Love you guys so much....
Hi Penny, I hear you. Even the holidays as we once knew them are changed. I put on the mask and go through the motions for the kids in the family but it's a hollow, empty feeling most of the time. And you have the added sadness of your dear husband's illness. I'm so sorry you and he are dealing with this.
Prayers for you and your sweet husband. May the holiday season be as gentle as possible. Love to you and dearest Mike, Linda ♡
Penny, Yes it is added stress for our already stressful lives. Can't wait for January. One day at a time, I am with you and hoping you can feel this hug!!! Peace. Kathy
Just reading this now. Holidays really do change. How could they not? Brandons favorite also. He put his Christmas list on the fridge in September. lol
Love you to pieces,
