Holidays

I am really up tight about the holidays coming.  The first Thanksgiving, the first Christmas without my wonderful husband just seems too much to face.
I have sons and grandchildren locally that will want to be with me, and I want to be with them of course.  However the traditions will not be the same, in fact I can't even face doing some of the same things.

I don\'t look forward to any of it. Rob\'s tumor discovered Sept. 08 and we sat waiting for the next mri during that Thanksgiving, thankful that so far we didn\'t know for sure if it was cancer. Dec. 23rd. \'08 he came home from surgery with the GBM dx and a 15 month prognosis, Dec. 24, 09 we came home from Bethesda and a clinical trial and by new years he was bedridden and in hospice and died January 13th. I just want to run and hide as they approach. Nothing will be the same so I want it to be totally different, but how. I hear you and understand. Hug, Donna

Dear Donna,

So difficult. Maybe starting new holiday traditions would be helpful, but what??? I enjoy reading Deepak as well. I have started reading his book, \"How To Know God.\" I am finding it hard to concentrate on it right now however, it is pretty intense. I am keeping on with it though. I have read a book called \" Awakening From Grief\" by John Welshons which I found exceptional. In fact I am reading it again.

My husband used to say \"together we can get through anything.\" He isn\'t here to get through this with, but then maybe he is. I hold on to that.

Blessings,
Linda
