Holiday
I have friends here now from Nova scotia, my old drinking buddy. This guy is a true friend. He doesn't judge me for not drinking and he continues on with what he wants to do and I respect that. Today I took him on one of our old fashion crop tours. He drinks I drive. I have enjoyed this activity for so long and I must admit that I miss getting drunk with him. I told him that would love to have a beer and a smoke. He knows that I would like it and so would he, but he is a good enough friend that he never tries to coax me into a drink. We are leaving tomorrow for a few days in Sue St Marie. I will always have the temptation, but I know and so does he that there is no going back to the old ways for me. The best part is he understands.

How wonderful friends can be and he is a true friend, you show your courage and strength daily because I know how tempting that must have been for you espcially right now with all your going through.
I am so hoping that you and your wife will have a change of heart and find each other again.
But for right now maybe you can try to put all that aside and just enjoy the company of your dear friend.
Enjoy yourself. I hope you have a really good holiday. Take Care
Now THAT is what friendship is. Love you. Mishka.
I don\'t buy into the, \"Ya can\'t have buddies that drink\" bullshit either. As long as YOU are aware that for you there is no \"safe\" drink, it\'s all good. I go to the bar to get a drama and trauma \"fix\", I like to play pool and I still sing sometimes, I don\'t do this alla time, but I can travel anywhere fearlessly as long as I remain aware that I cannot safely drink.
Working \"trauma\" scenes, I have cleaned up a few drunks that drank themselves to death, baaaaaaaaad way to go. I know I am six months from that fate the first time I decide I want to drink.
Hugs!
