Holding On
This has been a very difficult start to a school year. We have a lot of special ed students (14) and we were over in our numbers and had to wait several weeks before we got a fourth teacher. The stress has been awful. However, I am happy to report that I have held on to my weight loss. This is very big for me. I am a stress eater. I had a couple of days that I started in to my negative pattern and I could feel the result in my body and I pulled myself out of it. I got back on the scales, faced it, worked out, and kept it from spiralling. It was this very stress that has caused me to gain 35 pounds in 10 years since I have been teaching. I HAVE to find a way to lose weight and maintain the loss while teaching. I HAVE to find a calm in this storm. Eating is not going to fix angry parents, unreasonable admin expectations, ridiculous state testing, out of control students, and mounds of paperwork. I have to figure this out. I want to look in the mirror and feel good about what I see. I want to continue to lose and I really think I can. It is all in my head. :)
