Hold On Till May (song)
The song Hold On Till May by, Pierce The Veil helps me....a lot. Here is why:
I was abused for most of my life. Since I was 4 or 5 years old & it stopped when i was 22 (I'm 23 now). Most of the people who abused me were my family (especially my sister....)
When i was growing up, my mom gave all the attention to my sister, so i felt ignored an neglected. I would play alone in my bedroom most of the time for hours. My mom never came and checked on me most of the time. My sister was physically & emotionally abuse to me, on most days. My room was the only place that I could go to to get away from her...she wouldn't come in my room (most of the time).
Aside from being abused by my family, i also had boyfriend's who abused me, in any possible way. I've been abuse free for almost a year... and ill be honest. I dont want to live anymore. It's hard to deal with the memories of almost 17 years of abuse. I can't take it most of the time. I always want to kill myself, because i can't live with it. I always want to die.
I havent been a Pierce The Veil fan for that long honestly. I just started listening to them recently. (It's not because of King For A Day). I saw them at Warped Tour this year, and i havent stopped listening to them since. I love them. A lot. But their song Hold On Till May really helps me.
The first time i heard it, i couldnt stop listening to it. Now it's probably one of my favorite songs. Ever. It helps me. It makes me feel safe, and i feel like i can really relate to it.It is hard to live with memories of being abused most of my life. But when i listen to that song, i feel like i'll be okay, and it makes me not want to end things... even though i really want to & if i wasn't afraid to I would have already done it.
When i listen to it. I feel like im in another world. I just feel different & safe. And no other song has made me feel that way.
I am going to see Pierce The Veil in 31 days. and i really hope that they play Hold On Till May. I will cry like a baby. I swear that song is one of the only songs that can keep me from doing terrible things... Especially the part where Vic says, "Darling, you'll be okay".
Thanks for reading if you did.
