Hoarding - unburying myself: step one
I took a trunk load of stuff to the dump yesterday, and have a box of beads (another "hobby") in the trunk with a destination in mind. My nephew (the lesbian) wants the beads. I also gathered together some excess sewing stuff and listed it on ebay. I really hope it sells, because otherwise I might end up throwing it away, and it is perfectly usable stuff.
One of the big problems is that this is all perfectly usable stuff. It is not hard to bring the broken stuff to the dump, except physically because of the operation (I'm still not fully recovered), but it is horrible to throw away stuff that is perfectly usable.
I come from a long line of hoarders, and was brought up on "you never know when you're going to need that", and have inherited some of the collections from both my mother and uncle, for whom I sold a great deal of his collection on ebay the year before his death.
Hopefully, I can get enough of this out of my life and out of my mind that I will feel less stressed and overwhelmed by it.
Hey, at least I don't have to climb the pile to reach things!
