Ho hum venting
It has been awhile! I guess I have been sleeping better as I usually journal when I have insomnia (it is 2 am).
I feel for you ladies who are going through a far tougher time than me. Except for feeling sorry for myself, life is fairly okay. But I will whine anyway!
I am a bit worried. Andrew suffers from depression and anxiety. He called yesterday in a panic. He has dizzy spells when he stands up to quickly - generally caused by a sudden change in blood pressure. Yesterday, he had a particularly bad one and dropped and broke a plate. I told him to check with the doctor. We would have gone to Edmonton to support him and Tiina except Yuki the cat, is ill and has a vet appointment on Wednesday. She is not eating except for a few treats. She is precious to me as she was born the year Lisa died. Lisa brought her mother home as they were going to have her put down. She was a beautiful long haired white kitty who ended up having 4 kittens. Andrew has Mystic and we have Yuki. Anyway I was torn. I called Andrew today and he is feeing some better - just tired.
I watched a comedian who did a bit on depression. He was funny but it was serious. I like when he said that he hated when people used the word suicide. He said they should say that they died of depression. Andrew has been treated for depression for most of his adult life - as have I. However he has severe anxiety as well and that is dreadful. He manages to work but it does exhaust him. We are hoping to go on the weekend however I have a feeling our province is going to be shut down tight as our Covid stats are through the roof.
Covid. I am getting sick and tired of folks ranting about thier rights not to wear a mask. We have rallies almost every weekend and there was a rodeo on Saturday. We supposedly have laws around crowds and no masks but the police go and hang out and give the odd ticket! I am quite certain that we are doing so poorly because of those flouting the rules. Whatever happened to the right to be safe? I have no problem with people not wearing masks, but stay home. I feel for the folks in the grocery stores who politely ask people to mask up and are sworn at! I could go on. The variants are overtaking now.
Our cashier at the grocery store is from New Delhi. I told him how sorry I was for the people back in India. I can't imagine it there. The air pollution stung my eyes when we visited a few years ago. It must be horrendous with all the funeral pyres. My heart hurts.
Joe and I had our first vaccines and I tested positive about 3 weeks after. I had been volunteering at a Women's Centre and got an email saying that some staff were ill. I figured I'd be fine but thought I would be extra careful and got tested. I was positive! I was totally asymptomatic. I told the folks I had been in contact with to get tested. Thankfully they were all negative! Including Joe! It is one sneaky disease. If i had been an antimasker, I could have shared the wealth with any number of folks - unbeknownst to me!
On the upside. There really is an upside! Cevyn and the twins are doing well. We facetime with them and they are hilarious. Bella likes to hold the phone and show us around! We have gotten great views of the ceilings! We have booked flights to go to visit in June for Cevyn's birthday. With any luck, we will be able to fly! We really are not used to staying home!!!
Wishing all a Happy Mother's Day. Our angels would want us to be happy. Hugs from Missing Lisa

Good to hear from you my friend! You've been on my mind a lot lately.
Anxiety and depression are very real, and can be very scary and debilitating. "Died of depression".....yes, that sounds more accurate. I pray Andrew and his doctor can find the best options for him to be able to keep it under control. I also pray for your kitty Yuki. (((hugs)))
Praying for an end to covid.
I'm SO excited that y'all will be able to visit Ceyvn and the girls for her birthday! WHOOP! WHOOP! WHOOP! And I seriously laughed out loud at getting great views of the ceilings, LOL!!!
