Hmmmm, should I or shouldn\'t I???

Well, ain't it the truth!  When it rains it pours.  I have been asked to be on a very presitgious committee (volunteer) and I would love love love to do it.  I pretty much have all but dropped the Red Cross because it's a political hornet's nest and I don't need that hassle however, do still help get $$ when I can.  The Salvation Army I am very involved in.  Not to brag, but just 2008 donations  has been $ 3,7530.oo using grants and fund raising.   At present, I've developed a fund raiser idea which, with Captain's approval, could be a real steady help financially.  NON-PROFITS ARE IN DESPERATE NEED and if I were to join this other committee (non-profit) I could parlay my position on that board to possibly assisit the other non-profits because it's all truly about net-working. HERE'S THE PROBLEM - TIME AND HEALTH!  I know you're shocked.   ROFLOL  I am afraid that if I say yes, I will be getting in over my head   as this committee is just beginning and getting something like this off the ground is time consuming and hard.  I just wonder if I will have the staminia and time to do the Ministerial Counseling Course for my degree (TOP PRIORITY!), my Discipleship Course at my church (TOP PRIORITY!) in addition to my family/marital demands.ALSO, I must consider the very real possibility of what surgery could do to me if the neurosurgeon wants to do fusion.  Will that put me out of commission temporarily or permanently?  TOO MANY IF's!!!    Well, my dearest peeps, your words of wisdom would be appreciated.  I suppose I could "go for it" and if the surgery happens, and if it puts me out permanently, deal with it  then.Take care and know that I send you all my love & hugs.  I do apologize if it seems I am whining as of late. It's just my life seems very suddenly upside down, shaken, etc.

I have found that the more involved I get the sicker I became, it wasn\'t just the time but it was the stress of worrying about it. Try putting a \"fleece\" before the Lord, he\'ll let you know if it\'s in his plan for you, ot if it is someone else\'s blessing. As I tell Mechelle, don\'t hog all the blessings , other people need to give back too. It was hard for me to give up the limelight, but the less stressful life style is so worth it...even for us overachievers!

Thank you Nan. Yes, you are probably correct in that I am biting off something I should not chew, but I can hardly resist and am hoping that I will attend a bit and see if it is for me. I will let the person know I am taking a wait -n- see thing with this as if it is an all talk and no action, I\'m outta here.
