Hmmm... I wonder what the lesson is with this?

I'm a firm believer that everything we experience in life is a lesson - to train us for the future, prepare us for things we are going to need in life.

So, here's back to my neighbor.   3 weeks of silence.   It was WONDERFUL, lol.   Until yesterday.
A friend said in the beginning of this whole neighbor thing that alot of my problem with him is his jealousy.  His wife and two daughters don't do anything outdoors - and all of a sudden, he sees me being self sufficient... I repair my own car when I can, repaired the gutters that got broken twice (first snow, then the roofer).  Yesterday, I stained the deck in less than an hour (helps to have the right tools, lol), I hauled in drywall and paint to fix walls, lots of furniture that I'm reconditioning.   Basically, I'm totally self-sufficient.  Who needs a man?   Not me, lol!
So just as I was cleaning up yesterday after staining the deck, the neighbor came out.   First, he says "BOO!"  I ignored him... then it was "Good Morning, Donna!  he he he, whatever."  And I continued to ignore him.  Btw, it was 5pm in the evening.   And then he continued to talk to himself as I finished (I couldn't hear what he was saying).   I'm beginning to think the guy is seriously mentally ill.
So, about the learning thing!   What a difference 3 weeks makes!   So last time I had this happen, I was TOTALLY stressed out.   He'd triggered something in me that wanted to protect what I have.... I think it's about the animals - I fought to keep them safe, and this triggered the needs to try harder - especially when the police said MY DOG would be to blame (I've since learned that wasn't true either, but whatever).   So during the time he was gone on vacation, I used it to make sure my animals stayed safe.   I trained them to ignore him... trained them to hang with me on the other side of the yard... so when we do hang out in our yard (lately we've been hanging out at the dog park), all my dogs do is lay around, lol.
So yesterday, when this happened, I WASN'T STRESSED!   My home is safe and secure; my animals are safe and secure; I'M safe and secure!

Oh wait, that's it, isn't it!   The lesson was to show me that I knew what I needed to do, I did it, and I'm going to be fine!  And I realized that HIS behavior is not supposed to have any affect on MINE.   I'm in control of how I respond, if at all, and I've got this!
GAAA!  SO SIMPLE!   Hm... now why do I need to know this for the future?

LATER!

Very insightful...his behavior should have to effect on yours. This will come into play sometime in the future I\'m sure. Its good for you to look at these things as learning lessons for life. I will try to do the same.
