Hisser War II
Maybe I only need to talk about Hisser-War One. By official accounts, this is the war in which a bipolar person was carried to holding and processed into the mental health system. Court orders were issued for 30 days of med compliance after two weeks in a mental care facility. Patient was discharged to husband's custody. Complainants declined to pursue further prosecution.
I have not read the filed report, but I have worked for enough government agencies to feel fairly secure with this guess.
I would like to report it as The Shorted Monitor Incident. The very large, inner-city high school my sons attended was days away from end of school year ceremonies. I had volunteered to produce the awards and honor certificates. The production run numbered in the thousands. I was donating the material and equipment except for some designer paper the School Administrator had on hand. Near the end of the run, the 1980's monitor I was using shorted out and began to strobe. Purple red green yellow white. Over and over with some exciting variations to brighten the eye candy.
That's what I get for re-cycling pro cast-offs. Didn't have another cast-off handy and had spent my tech budget on printer cartridges. Ceremonies were commencing. I tried to tough it out.
On the sideline of my personal drama, my husband and my son were reaching tournaments in their joint Little League ventures. My son was even on some of the awards I was printing.
And the neighbor with the high pressure sodium porch light had a new mister, just in from Dallas. Newly retired and confident he was the best of my neighbor's uncounted mister string. He and my long-time neighbor were the "complainants." I could look up the name if it seemed important. I am willing to bet original neighbor has a new name by now. This was 1999. Totally last millennium. The altercation took place in their circle of light. The family name for the altercation is named for the nightly song of their high pressure sodium.
My uphill neighbors in my here and now - the keepers of the multiple sets of twin halogen floodlights - also have a pool. Pool filters need to be back-washed. Guess who gets the back wash! Your shadows are gift enough, neighbor.
Once more my husband finds it much easier to criticize my lady engineer political style than to get his executive talents over to the other side of the fence.
I am grateful my husband declined this generation's ownership of the family's gun collection. I know how to work an antique.
Sigh. Deep breaths.

p.s.
the new mister\'s part was an urgent need to rebuild the fence outside my office window. No, it could not wait until after tournaments or end of school ceremonies and he wanted manly collaboration right then! I was foolish enough to suggest he collaborate on the tournament bus.
Yowza! You would have thought a boy-child had asked for the ball that just flew over the original neighbor\'s fence! She had already terrified all the boy children on her fence line. A ball over her fence was simply gone. She kept 911 on speed dial.
