His old law books
Marc worked for the same company for 41 years as a corporate attorney. Six months ago when he died, they mailed me 8-9 boxes of stuff from his office. I’ve gradually gone through them, filing, selling (pipes and tobacco humidor!), giving away, tossing out most. I have one box left of his old law books.
Some were written in 1947 and revised in 1974! Black's Law Dictionary, Law of Torts, AntiTrust Law Developments...They are large and heavy.
I cannot look at two items without crying. One is "Letters to a Young Lawyer” and the other is his old Rolodex with typewritten cards from the 70’s and 80’s, with his scribbling on many.
Maybe I’ll put the two "triggers" in “his" drawer which contains his Eagle Scout sash and patches, and diplomas.
Does anyone have any thoughts on what to do with the old law books?
I am not a pack rat and don’t like to keep extra stuff that I won’t use.

There is a wall in our home office. We have lots of good art hanging there, but there is a blank wall over the couch...These old books are really quite beautiful, so Im now thinking of having a nice shelf built, and putting the books on the wall, as art! Then, when I die and the house and contents go to the kids, THEY will get to decide what to do with them. Ha!
