For those of us who grew up with old school hip hop, this shift can feel jarring and disappointing. However, it’s clear that in today’s rap industry, lyrics are no longer the focus – it’s all about producing as much content as possible, regardless of quality. With so many amateur artists flooding the market, it can be tough to separate the wheat from the chaff and find truly great rap music. DaeMoney has spent the majority of his life around rappers, learning the craft from his uncle Babyface Ray at a young age and even recording a pre-written verse on a Team Eastside track when he was just six.

The track also serves as a “coming out” of sorts for his mother – Gloria Carter – who appears on a spoken-word outro for the track.

Instead of focusing solely on rap artists, Future 50 represents all of the players most likely to change the game, including R&B artists as well as songwriters, producers and executives working in the realms of hip-hop and R&B.
A flurry of tracks released in 2019 were quickly followed up by some equally exciting drops at the beginning of 2020, with recent song 'Eat It Up' making plenty of noise online. 2020 has already seen Rubi Rose release her hit song 'Pretty MF' with more new music expected pretty soon. Juggling her role on MTV show Wild 'N Out with her rising music success, B. Since Megan confused our Classical Music Expert, she's enjoyed a huge rise in popularity with Tupac Shakur comparisons and a rumoured relationship with fellow rapper G Eazy adding to Meg's star status. This way of preaching, unique to African-Americans, called the Black sermonic tradition influenced singers and musicians such as 1940s African-American gospel group The Jubalaires.
These artists seek to expand ways of traditional thinking through different ways of cultural expression. In this effort they hope to elicit a response to female hip hop artists not with a misogynist lens but with one that validates women's struggle.
