High End Living in the Sky - Penthouse Condo Units
According to the Oxford Dictionary that a penthouse is described as"a flat on the top floor of a tall building, typically beautifully fitted and offering fine views." This definition does not do justice to these glamorous homes that have programmers competing for building the very best of penthouse living. Attracting the wealthiest of the wealthy, builders scramble to create the best luxury dwelling to adapt the high standards expected from a penthouse unit buyer.
This however has not always been the situation. In the past the"penthouse" of a construction was considered just to be the dwelling located on the top floor of the building. These units weren't always considered to be high end living and weren't significantly different in the other residential units in the building. The sole exception was that they had been the highest unit in the construction. Over the years, the expression"penthouse" has evolved. Penthouse units are now considered to be high end luxury living components on a high level- although not necessarily the very top floor of the building. Some condo buildings include two or three floors of penthouse units with the top floor components currently being referred to as"The Penthouse." Once built, this building will be the tallest residential building in North America. The"penthouse" components with this building start on the 72nd floor and finish on the 74th floor and are made up of multiple units on one floor. In years past these could have been considered"sub-penthouse" units. "The Penthouse" for this particular construction is the whole 75th floor. Think caviar and champagne. Overall the term penthouse has developed through the years.
