Hiding Pain - I'm now professional level

So I'm wondering if others get really good at hiding their pain over the years. I feel like I live at an 8 and often go into 9 territory. When I'm alone, I'll allow a few tears, sometimes, but mostly I just hide it. My husband gets upset, I feel like a wimp, etc.
But, I've been told by several doctors that hiding the pain isn't a good thing since they can't really make a plan without knowing that. I think I"m just better than most. Does anyone else feel that way?
I think I'm actually going to post this on the discussion thread. I'm very curious and anxious to see how other people actually manage the shame.
