hi my name is paula and ive just joined the site, hope i can get some support on this site. ive been sexually and emotionally abused from the age of 6 to 28 by my step father i have recently told the police and he is know serveing 7 years in jail. i know suffer from deppression and just stopped seeing my counciller. i have a loveing boyfriend whos stuck by my tho thick and thin and i love him to death. my family have been alittle supprtive but never seem to know how to approach the situation hope i can help other people and you help me thanks x

I recommend \"Trauma and Recovery\" by Dr. Judith Herman, MD. Dealing with Complex Post Traumatic Stress Disorder can be a very difficult task. It takes love and care both from others and from yourself toward yourself.

Hi Paula.....I\'ve had three very severe clinical depressions during my lifetime (I am 62).....I was abused by my paternal grandfather when I was a small child. He passed away when I was five, and my memories were repressed for many years...till my early marriage when they flooded back.....I have dealt with it through wonderful therapists, but it is so important to get the RIGHT one! I have treated my depressions in natural ways and my body will not tolerate antidepressants at all. I have severe chemical sensitivites and many more health problems. Welcome sweetie, Im sorry for your struggles. DS is a good place to get loving support hand in there, time and Gods love will heal you. Im glad you have a bf that is good to you. keep reaching out post questions and journalling really helps that and therapy Im on antidepressants that help.I will pray for you HUGS

You might want to be be friends with \"Fifirose\" /AKA Fran she is going through court case for a wicked, horrible, sexual assault in her home a couple years ago and is looking for understanding empathetic supportive friends. She is bedridden and housebound at present & her PTSD symptoms are going through the roof! Take care and feel better soon.
