Hesitant to even write
I haven't even wanted to write a journal entry. It just makes this mess even more real to me, but I finally felt moved to do so. The surgery was tough. I ended up with a Baclofan O.D and had to have 4 paramedics drag my half naked butt out of a chair. I spent 11 days in a diaper in the hospital. I have been home 2 weeks (still in a diaper) and I am not back to work yet. When you spend that long in bed and have little left, recovery is hard. The stress of it all has left me with increased spasticity. The now are turning up the pump in small increments. So, I am still very spastic and in pain. I sleep in a reclining chair. Lying in bed hurts too much. I am tired and frustrated.
My work is supportive and says to take as much time as I need. I am hoping to get back to work in the next 2 or 3 weeks. If I can't it is going to be hard. Work helps me emotionally so much. My husband has been great. My mom too. I have someone with me near 24 hours a day. I am a bit nuts. I like alone time. And its has been hot. It seems like I have been hot since July. Oh, and we have to move and be out of our apt. by the end of the month. We haven't found a place yet. Currently we have a reservation at extended stay for November. Praying we will find a place that will work and be moderately handicap friendly.
Trying to stay hopeful and positive, but it is hard.

Kelly so sorry you are having a tough time. When I had my pump put in I was out of work about 4 wks.. Take the time to get your dosage right it will help in the long run. My dosage was at 24.76 but yesterday we decreased it by 5 pct. not at 233.32 I am still stiff but have a little more strength and doin pt so this will help. Contact me anytime you if you have any questions about your pump. You will get better I promise your friend Chuck
Kelly, I\'m praying you feel better soon and your body adjusts. I do not know much about the pumps other than what Chuck has told me. I admire you both for getting them and still continuing to work ! NO idea how you do it ... Just being a stay at home mom/housewife is exhausting. Prolly wouldn\'t be as tired if I went to work.. lol. Please keep us posted on your progress.. Hugs, Stacey
Thanks Stacey. I am grateful for the encouragement. And you are doing the most important job in the whole world, hardest too! Good for you! I bet your a great mom/
