Heritage vs. Inheritance

Here I go, comparing again. Prayers in progress that I am using the talent well on this not-so-merry-go-round.

The comparison bubbled up somewhere in the meandering pilgrimage to formalize my grief over my estranged big brother's death. Mister Surname's death remained the hotter topic in the family dialogue, despite the extra 3 months of grieving for Mister Surname's death. Natural enough in my theraphied logic. My sons (33 and 37) were 1 and 5 years old when hubs chased by deeply damaged big brother out of the house we were renting from his parents. For sure, big brother left no inheritance. Watching hubs act as Executor for his father's estate has even made me a bit grateful that the bureaucrats aren't so interested in big brother's death. Did my unrequited big brother leave a heritage?

Chew chew. Not sure the question needs an answer. A meditation conundrum?

Footnote: Condition not worse. Just for today, the isolation in the gilded cage has felt downright medicinal.

Treated myself to one of my personal favorite in-town gilded cage get-aways: lunch at a dining theater. I love being able to eat as slow as I want in the darkness. My favorite dining theater serves gourmet hippie food fit for a 21st century food disciple. High dollar, but nutritionally sound.

Saw "Logan." I love Sir Patrick's taste in studs. In this movie, I even loved his taste in Damsel's in Distress. Her distress responses were responses I could relate to. Did she even look and talk like I did when I was her age? Maybe just a little? Nah. . . Projection, I am sure. Everybody knows they didn't make girls like that in the 50's. "Monday, Tuesday, Happy Days."

However fleeting the relief, it felt like good medicine. Good meds in 21st century dialect?

So much to contend with after that monumental road trip and arriving home to bd plans and retirement question...glad you took yourself away for some dark time enjoyment. My Mom and I used to go to a small dine in theater many years ago....she passed in 94. Long ago movies from yester year...sure don't make them like they used to be....end to violence in movies! Cary Grant, Kathrine Hepburn, Tracy, Garbo...no they were actors! Not this cockomanie sex, violence, drug flashing insanity that takes a weeks paycheck to see...remember the days with previews, news and double feature for 50 cents??? I do :)Take care, ml
