Here is a poem I wrote
Some may think I have never been down in the deep, dark pit of despair but I have been there more than once. So, about a year ago I wrote this poem. I have many dark poems and some dark songs I wrote, chorded, played and sung. I have been there. On the road of fear Darkness, only darkness Fully frightened All alone I was They looked me over My family did With eyes cast down They turned away Leaving me gripped by some ugly thing I pushed and pulled to free myself Still I remained Where I was The thieves appeared taking all I had Nothing left for meMy life all gone Stealing my world away Blackness turned blacker The ground below me became as mush pulling me down locking me in Unable to move Unable to see I wished for death to visit me Trapped in sorrow existing in chains This mind all dim, yet flickering thoughts of mercy and love Fleeting and quickjust small dreams The very ones who, as me reached out their hands to offer help who, as me left stranded in the muck Together we found our way out of the night to the welcoming light. ~~Sherry '08

Thanks Vicki. I think Hope always was somewhere nearby but I did not always see it. I could have recorded and published but had to stop playing due to hand problems and don\'t even sing now due to esophagus problems. That loss sure made me cry a few rivers. I had family members who were good musicians up in Alaska who wanted to record with me. When I sing along with my favorite songs on Youtube I cannot even hit those notes and my voice sounds so unfamiliar. Anyhow good to see you are back! I Hope you are feeling alright my fellow Hoper. Many blessings and loads of hope to you. : )
Great poem! This articulates feelings I\'ve had as well, especially about family turning away. We must make our own families from people who are mutually supportive.

I am so surprised by the comments I have received. I posted this poem in a poetry group and got not one comment lol. Also, a site for the disabled that I was active on for 3 years and blogged often, I rarely received a comment on my poems. Glad you all think it is a good poem and I know you all can relate.
