Here in Atlanta
I made it safe and sound! From St. Louis to Atlanta, it took me 10 hours, and that was with my body needing to take 6 stops along the way to rest, stretch, and eat. Not bad at all. I actually never hit any kind of traffic, not even in the city itself. I guess my luck was running on the good side. By the time I got here though, me and my rosacea, which I lovingly refer to as "Rosie," had had enough. I ate a simple dinner, stretched my legs, did my red light therapy twice, and then passed out for the night.
I slept well, and Rosie is much calmer this morning. The odd thing about rosacea is how volatile it can be in regards to mood/stress. I still haven't quite gotten used to that.
Today, I begin the Atlanta house hunt with my new agent, Tom. So far, via phone and email, he seems to be a terrific person. I'm really looking forward to spending time with him and embracing more of this HUGE city.
It's tough to be so far away from the only home I've ever known, but growth can be painful. In fact, I often think pain is the touchtone for growth, and in time it always transmutes itself into an abiding joy, even if there are bittersweet elements to it.

I used to drive thru Atlanta to get to the other side of MS. It was a hard 10 hour drive and I hate driving I-20 thru Atlanta. My daughter lives in Decatur and wow real estate is expensive. Glad you got there safely
Thank you! Actually, Jeff and I just put an offer on a home in Decatur. It needs some TLC, but hopefully that's all cosmetic. the house inspection should let me know for sure.
FYI... closing on the MO homestead was made official at 11am today. It's no longer mine and has a brand new owner. May she find all the happiness we had there, and then some!
Love your positive attitude even through a stressful situation. It's really hard to embrace change but you seem to be doing a wonderful job:) Good luck on the house hunt and congrats (and sympathies, as well...lol) on your house in MO closing. Transitions are indeed a fascinating process.
Atlanta is a great place, a lot of kind people. I also love the positive attitude it makes a big difference.

Good morning, Jen! Thank you so much! I'm trying really hard to be open and embracing of the changes. It isn't always easy. Last night as I was trying to fall asleep, I kept thinking of the MO homestead and I just wanted to go back there, to go home. It's hard not to think of it as home. I'm sure once I have a new place and starting making it my own, that feeling will ease up and I'll feel much, much better.
Hey there, skii! Thanks for the hug! What a wonderful thing to wake up to in my inbox. :) So far, I'm really enjoying Atlanta. Everyone has been so warm and kind. The weather is beautiful, and the house hunt has been full of surprises... some good, some... ummm.. shocking. LOL! This is truly an adventure!
