Here comes the roller coaster
I am having a very rough day. My printer is down, so is my nephew's . I can't find pix I wanted. I did find quite a few online (our fb walls) but does me no good. I do have some--- they will have to do. Resigning myself to that.
Then I go in one of the spare rooms to search for more pix, but see nothing. I look up and see two big spots (from water damage) that I never had a clue . (So thinking more repair work and money.) Also realizing the inspection on the car is coming (hoping it wasn't Jan or I am in trouble already) Thinking of automatic payments that I have to make sure continue with bills. Finding myself again overwhelmed and in tears as this is part of what I was afraid with the divorce--that in the end , all would fall on me. Now it truly is ALL ON ME. I AM NOT THIS STRONG. Frankly I just want to cuddle up and cry.... and I can-- all by myself.
As much as I wanted my freedom, having all of this to clean up first may just kill me. Is so very hard. :(

YOU ARE STRONG, stronger than you may think. This is a difficult time for you, don’t be afraid to reach out for help and support. You are not alone. There is no shame is crying and accepting that this is hard for you. Just know that you will get through this and you will be stronger for it.
Make a list and prioritize what needs to be done. Check one thing off at a time. If there are things that family or friends can help you with, ask them, I’m sure they will gladly help you out.
Hang in there Kim!
My thoughts and prayers are with you!
Big hugs,
Kim
You are strong like looking2bhappy says. You have not come this far to not be. First don't try to do it all at once. I have been trying to work on things as I can. Like this morning, I thru out some of Mom's kept newsletters. Most don't mean a thing anymore but I kept what I thought she would still get info from. Other crap is in the trash. I have taken bags out--she saved everything!! I got this stuff down to just a few boxes. When the time comes, the rest goes but not now. Actually I am still looking for an envelope of money that Mom lost 2 years ago in that mess. So I do have a goal there.
I go thru stuff but not all at once. Like you, I have not had the time or energy.
Yesterday I met a friend in walmart and he lost his dad, mom, and cousin in about a year's time. He and his sister have most of that to take care of but he is sole person for the cousin. He does what he can and then procedes with the next step. He lived with that cousin 26 years--since his divorce I think. And he is ready to retire but doesn't know what to do there.
I have cried so much in this last 2 and a half years. Had a big one this morning from one of Mom's dreams.
Hugs and take care of yourself. You will make it thru this.
Mary
hugs my friend, curl up and cry. I did that so many times too. You are strong, very strong. You just do not realize it yet. One thing at a time. Ask around for pictures, I am sure they have some that they would share with you. Do things simple. They do not have to be fancy or elaborate.
You don’t have to fix everything right this minute. Wait until after the funeral. You are just overwhelmed. That’s not about not being strong. Go ahead and let yourself cry.
Just take one thing at a time. Don't think of anything else other then what you are doing at the moment.
At a later date! Make a list of monthly bills and when they are due.
I have lived alone for 5 years and if I can do it, anyone can. It's not that hard, Kim.
Is the inspection due by the end of January? That means you have until the middle of febuary to get it done. They give you a 2 week window.
Get at least 4 or 5 estimates on roof repair before you high anyone. .
One day at a time....One hour at a time......One minute at a time.....Take a deep breathe and breath
Kim you can down load the pictures to a flash drive and take them to walgreens to print them....they are not too expensive.....good luck.....sorry so much is on you right now....hugs bill
Sending hugs and a prayer. You will get through this. Just lean on the Lord--that's what got me through my adult daughter's death and then my husband's.
Today is the day of the service. I did have my meltdowns as things did fall apart (or so I thought). In the end-- they are working out--- I think. I now know that (as you all have been trying to tell me) it will be ok -- however things do work out. My brother-in-law is going to print a few pix as well as chauffeur me to and from the services. Don't know how many people will actually show up ,but I do know both families and a few close friends will-- and that is what matters.
Yesterday I spoke with my nephew's wife and while we were chatting the little guy came in .(Jaxon who will soon be 4) Hearing his little voice say "I love you Aunt KIm. See you tomorrow." did brighten my day. Death is always harder for those left behind. But with the love of family and friends (and God) we do make it through.
hugs my friend. be gentle with yourself.
Hope all goes well today and you have the support you need. Things seem to work out once we just surrender a bit to the chaos a bit, I think. No sense in fighting it or trying to control it. Don't worry about anything today, just stay present and in the moment if you can.
Hugs Kim. I hope everything went ok today. You’re a very strong woman.
hope you had a good memorial service and that the strength of family and friends holds you together thru all things big and small
