Help yourself
I have been terribly concerned over a friend who is battling depression and can't seem to get better. I've decided there is nothing more I can do but turn it over to the Lord. I probably should have done that first instead of just asking for his help. First I tried all I remember from Mental Health classes, then all I've learned in studying religion over the years then I gave it over. I asked two church members to pray with me at the altar and still my friend sinks deeper and farther away.
Now I ask for prayer for me because I am afraid I am losing patience with her. We all have reasons to be depressed if we focus on our personal stressors. I can't make her see that inward focus on personal woes is self defeating. Any Ideas?

Hi Soap,
I agree sometimes you have to give it over to the Lord. However, I suffered from severe depression and credit 2 antidepressants with getting me back to normal. Does her doctor now about her mental condition? I will keep her in my prayers dear friend....Love you, Nancy
