Help please I dont know how to proceed

Finally stand and I are signing a mediation agreement. He is getting a loan to buy me out of our home in Fl. I live in Michigan now. Who do I contact to find out my liability for taxes if I buy a home or condo with my equity? What if I don't find something? What kind of person do I ask these financial questions. I am so uneducated in all this. I don't know where to turn but to you all, thinking maybe someone may have had a similar situation.  Thanks so much. Hugs to all, sandi

Honey, get a financial advisor. I have one with the life insurance company I had my RRSP\'s and life insurance. I was too until I was separated, and boy did I learn fast. I do not think there are any taxes on a primary residence. What I did was pay down 80% of my mortgage and the rest in my RRSP\'s. With my parents passing, I was able to buy a bigger condo and have a tiny mortgage left. Hugs, my friend.
