Help is on the way

So, yesterday a friend stopped by. Tom had to wake me up before she got here so I could talk to her. Being hypothryoid has also caused me to be hypoglycimic so I have been getting terrible bloodsugar highs and lows. So not only am I always cold, but I have a terrible headache and am dizzy.
I KNOW that I am not eating right. Although I had downloaded the low iodine cookbook a couple weeks earlier, I had not actually read it before going shopping and don't have crap in the house that I can eat. For the last ten days I have been living off a menu that only includes like five ingredients - which is only making my physical symptoms worse as my bloodsugar drops even farther.
Anyway, last night this friend comes over and talks for about an hour. She is part of the SCA (medieval recreation group) and one of the main cooks for large feasts - as are most of her immediate friends, who are also friends of mine. Well, she had a flash drive on her last night and took home a copy of the low iodine cookbook and when she left it was to another of the main chefs of the group. By the time I got a phone call at 9pm, they had worked out a plan.
Between the three main families of cooks, they are going to start making sure that at least once a day I get a care basket of food that is nutritious and can eat without blowing my low iodine diet. She was talking about things like lamb curry, waffles, fresh baked bread and homemade condiments.
When I got off the phone and my daughter served me up a plate of boiled pototoes with garlic and pepper, my stomach just refused. It just sort of looked at that and went "I'll wait for the curry, thanks."
I should have gotten off my high horse and asked for help last week when I realized that I was in trouble. That's what I get for being stubborn...
