Help
We are holding our own for now, but the operations here at the farm still feel like more than two old geezers should be attempting to tackle on our own, especially with the add-on of the foster care arrangement. The need has me reviewing our dismal track record on hired help. Yucko bucko, it doth sucko. Both of us have done well on hiring and managing fellow employees within an established corporate structure, complete with the support of an HR department, but our entreprenureal/domestic track record is dismal. The product development manager and farm handy who disappeared at the critical need of the Honey Barn christening are highly indicative of the record. They didn't *simply* disappear. They added more complications to the chaos of critical need before they disappeared, leaving far more problems than solutions to remember them by, alongside the insecurities of feeling like our names arenae safe in their mouths. Sorry, my protesting labor union wannabe. Harvest time isnae a good time for negotiating new contracts. I know, I know. "Hit 'em where it hurts most" is basic union negotiation strategey. This start up operation isnae Verizon Wireless. The heads of corporate/union scandals are seldom domestic roommates. The labor strike still feels downright personal, 3 months after the chaos. At the moment, the experiment still feels like a full failure. Let's not try that one again.
This past Thursday the corporate internet which Hubby works for his paid gig had its annual security test. Historically, Hubs has worked this test on-site. We both felt panic attacks over the thought of his spending two days in the urban homestead, leaving me alone with 3 young children here at the farm. The panic attacks would be even meaner if I was the one being called away on business, leaving *him* alone with the kids. His business center is only a 3 hour drive south of here. My international business doesnae have a fixed center and the nearest fixed location is a 14 hour drive north. Not too many of my business dealings can be covered in a mere 2 days.
Help needed, buttttttaaaaa. . . How?
The three most urgent needs are in the birds, the bees and the human babies. There are flowers, trees and incidentals, too, but they are far more independent than the babies, bees and birds. For now, I am reviewing babysitting services. For now. . .
Sorting. . . We see what grows.

funny but Not! to have comparison of Verizon/Contractors both shoveling bs up the proverbial you know what...my experience continues with verizon, and I got totally screwed with 'contractor' who put in ceramic flooring/painting/stupid me/becoming 'I'm a gonna do it' and never did
God Bless and Keep you And Your's Arfie, give you strength for all you've stepped into, and are taking on for the sake of your GK's future!
Definitely a plate that is overflowing. Plus hubby gone two days. Maybe some 4H kids or boy scouts looking for another badge? A poster or fliers at the feed and grain store? You'll get this sorted and things will fall in place. Supportive hugs.
