Hellooooo, Sunshine.

Feeling pretty good today.  I have been crocheting like mad (I am on working on my 6th afghan since December!) and organizing the new house.  I am pleased with how things are coming along.  I am not naturally an organized person.  I have no instincts or training when it comes to putting stuff where it should go or making it pretty, but thankfully, we live in the day and age of the interwebz where I can research and find inspirational photos.
The weather has been beautiful.  I won't lie, I miss what should be our usual rainy spring, but the sunshine has been lovely and the evenings properly chilly. THIS is backpacking weather, but alas, no backpacking for me.  Stupid missing disc.  I should go hiking, anyway, and try rebuilding my strength, maybe see a physical therapist about working toward backpacking again.  The last guy just flat out said, "You can't backpack," but he didn't really say "forever", and it doesn't hurt to get a second opinion.
Our oldest son moved out (again) and seems pretty content.  I miss him, but I am sooo glad.  My little bird needs to find his own wings. He will be applying for a new job in a few weeks since he will be turning 21 and will finally meet the requirements.  It'll triple his current pay (which isn't hard to do, but still!) and I think give him a new outlook on life.  Fingers crossed for him.
The younger son is trying to kill me.  I guess many "just turned 18" kids are similar, but ugh.  He's always been my difficult kid, but now?  Mmmnyeah.  He had planned on moving out with a friend when he graduated, but now his friend doesn't want to.  I had truly hoped he'd be gone by the end of summer, at the latest.  We found out from his brother that he now plans on staying, "Oh, for a year or two or until they make me leave..." but not working and not going to school and not doing much of anything.  Um.  No.  He already all but dropped out of high school (he managed to wrangle some sort of "online homeschooling" for the last two classes he needs to graduate), and I just CAN NOT stand having him home 24/7.  So.  Yeah.  Today we have to have a "coming to God" talk with him.  Yay.
The girl, on the other hand?  She's doing really well.  She applied for an early college high school and has made it through 2/3 of the gauntlet to get in.  We're still sitting on pins and needles waiting to see if she gets an interview (the final step) but I feel like she'll be great regardless of what high school she goes to.  It would be super nice for her to get a jump start on college, and I do think she's mature enough.  We'll see.  She loves her new room and has everything so tidy and perfect.  It's so adorable.  I'm glad one of us has skills in that area.
Things with Huz and are are good.  I feel like we've drifted away, but with moving and me being sick and then him being sick and just overall being BUSY, well, let's just say we haven't committed to the time we should be.  Not good.  But we're aware and have verbally recommitted to spending that time together.  The good news is that we actually miss each other.  There was a time when this was the norm and we just went our own ways: ships passing in the night.
Hope all my other DS friends are doing well.
