Hello New Year
It has been a few days since I wrote. New Years Eve I felt awful & we had friends coming over. Anyway I slept most of the day & we had a good time in the evening. We had a BBQ & Ed cooked chicken which was lovely. It was a beautiful evening, very warm& no mozzies thanks to the citronella candles.
I worked Sat & it was 40deg. I always think "that is 104f" which makes it feel hotter! I used an umbrella but the son was fierce. I kept drinking lots of water but it was still awful. I went home feeling terrible. Yesterday was cooler but we had a huge thunderstorm just as a I was starting my last round.I sat in the car with security for 15 mins & then just had to go out. I was petrified I would be stuck by lightening. There are so many trees in the village they do get struck. Anyway we managed & I got home soaking wet but alive! We need danger money!
The deck this morning looks like a bomb has hit it. There is bark everywhere from the gum trees. No sign of birds this morning. They must have been blown away
Poor Christopher is still not well. He is due back at work tomorrow but is not well enough.Ear infections are so painful. He will go back to the doctor tomorrow for a certificate for a few more days off.
I only have tomorrow evening to work & then I am on holiday for a month. It will be so good to have a break & not have to be out in the heat.
Well, the decorations must come down. They always seem to look a bit sad after Christmas. I hope I find the energy to do it today.
The washing machine has stopped so I might risk hanging it out.
Time for a coffee & then I must go & get something for dinner tonight.

Thunderstorms with lightening are very scary. I never used to fear lightening like I do now. It seems to strike freakishly- even from miles away. I\'m glad you made it home ok.
Your poor son. Ear infections are very painful. I hope that they can find something that will work to clear it up.
I am always a little sad to take Christmas down. I will wait until the boys are back at school to take mine down this week. No hurries though- oh, the outdoor lights will come down!
I hope your last night of work is easy and that you can start your break. Wow, a whole month. I hope it helps you cope through the heat!
