HELLO! My first post!
Hello everyone!
My name is Sarah Jane. I am happily married to my best friend since October 2011. We just got our first home, and are working on a family.
I met my husband on Skype, when friends added us all to a mass conversation. We realized that about eight hours later we were the only ones left. We called, skyped and wrote letters and emails to each other for a year. After a year, in May of 2011 I flew out to meet him in person and spent a week hanging out with him. After the second day I knew that I would marry him. He is my best friend, best fighter and a wonderful man. 3 months later, in August, he flew out to meet my family, he asked my parents permission to marry me, and we got engaged. In October, we got married. I moved with him and that left my family 2400 miles away, but I talk with them often. He is my knight in shining tinfoil armor ^-^, love of my life. We just bought out first home together and now want to start having babies around.
We have 7 pets (yes I know), four cats and three puppies. Let me tell you about them.
Chi: a 13 year old, gray tiger who is a little overweight, she is a brat who cuddles brilliantly and is my personal baby, she puts up with the other animals and my husband, but she is totally my kitten. She became mine when she was a month old, when my mom brought her home after rescuing her, she has been with me ever since.
Abby: a 7 year old black cat, who is the runt of our family and her litter. She is about 6 pounds in total, and looks a lot like Toothless from "How to train your Dragon", my husband found her when she was a month or so old, the middle of winter outside his back door, he couldn't find it in his heart to find her a home so he kept her, and she is 110% HIS cat.
Costello (Abby and Costello lol): is a 6 year old orange tiger and the only male cat in the house, my husband rescued him from a parking lot when he was 5 months old, he still thinks he is a wild cat and likes to his, but sleeps on us when he thinks we are asleep, he seems to put up with one or the other of us depending on his mood, but isn't really any one persons cat.
Martha Jones (Dr. Who character): is a 8 month old black and white Rex, who was rescued from the same parking lot Costello (Cos) was. She is almost completely deaf, only able to hear loud high pitched noise, is more than a tad stupid, and gentle as all get out. She loves people. Husband called me with a text pic of this mangy, starved kitten two months ago, and asked what he should do, I said bring her home. She is now happy, healthy and active, though still stupid. She also thinks she is a puppy and sleeps and plays with them.
Blue: a 4 month old blue heeler/border collie mix we got from a local rescue, he is covered in blue ticking except his paws and throat which have red ticking. He is a "leaning dog", he loves to lean on your leg and look at you with big soft brown puppy eyes. He is the largest of our puppies, around 18 pounds right now, solid muscle and extremely active pup. My husband fell in love with him, so we left with a dog for each of us.
Kaylee (Firefly character) Calypso: a four month old border collie/heeler mix we got at the same rescue we got Blue from. She is black and white with a little tan mixed in, she is my pup, she is also a lap dog. I sit anywhere and she wants to sit on my lap. When she wants something she flips her ears up and watches you with a really cute face. She was the quietest in the group and I was drawn to her.
Mickey (another Doctor Who character) Red: a four month old red heeler/beagle mix. Two weeks ago we were sitting on the back porch when this little pup comes wondering out of the desert sun and walked up to us. We tried for a couple weeks to find our where he came from but no one around here knows, and we couldn't find him another home. He is covered in red ticking with one larger brown spot on his right side, he also has green-blue eyes. He is a total sweetheart, and once he stopped being shy/scared of the other pups, they are one happy pack.
While in the USAF I banged up my knees pretty good in training, and I was eventually diagnosed with insomnia and Bipolar II disorder. This was after I was suicidal and had self-injured myself pretty badly. While in the military, my best friend from Basic was killed by her fiancé who was in our brother flight in Basic, that was very hard for me. A second friend from Basic was killed a few months later when a driver ran a stop sign and hit her.
My life has had it's ups and downs. Growing up my mom went blind from histoplasmosis. That lasted until I was sixteen when a surgery managed to give her partial sight in one eye. She also got, battled and won breast and ovarian cancer. She had both a double mastectomy and hysterectomy with chemo. She didn't let it stop her. My dad suffers from clinical depression, though I never knew it until I became an adult, he never let it interfere with his ability to be a father. My folks have been together for over 30 years now, and are finally going on their honeymoon. I have two little brothers, I say little, but they are only younger than me. Apollo is 26 and around 6 foot 4 inches, he and his girlfriend Christy have been together for 6 years. Christian is 19, the baby, and stands around 6 foot 8 inches. They would all go above and beyond to help someone in need.
My husbands family is a very close knit group though they live in 6 different states and some live in England and Japan. Friendly and open people who accept you just because. His parents have been together for over 30 years as well.
I am on half meds at the moment, working on getting off so that I can get pregnant. I am actually doing better than I thought I would, and am excited. I am a little worried about bad mood swings but for the most part I am happy, and working on healthy.
thank you for your time
go in peace to love and serve God
