Hello from Quito
Just a quick update. We arrived in Quito at 11:30 pm on Wednesday (our flight took off at 6:30 am) so it was a long day.
We went for a long walk yesterday. Joe got a sunburned face so our mission today is to get him a wide brimmed hat. He forgets sunscreen but is good about wearing a hat!
We have had no problem with altitude sickness. Tomorrow we are going on a day trip to some villages, a market, waterfalls - generally a tour of the area around Quito. We are on our own now. We wanted to get here and relax and poke around ourselves before we meet up with the group on Sunday. Monday we do a guided tour of Quito with the group where we will hear about some of the sites we have seen while on our walks.
I got a mani/pedi for $10 yesterday - it was not a high end spa but my nails look pretty good! And our lunch was $10 for both of us, including beer! The lunch special was $3, and the beer $2! You gotta love this place!
I am going to try and catch up on journals but I suspect I will fail miserably, especially after Sunday! Will keep you posted when I can. Love to all.
Lisa: I do feel you with me. I am waiting for a sign though. I cried when I couldn't phone to tell you we had arrived. That was always the first item on our agenda upon arrival. I miss you always and love you forever, Mum

Have a wonderful time and it\'s YOUR time so as Teri said no expectations of trying to be anywhere but present on your adventure.
We\'ll be here upon your return and I am sending lots of love and continued safe travels dear Marlene.
Hoping that you feel the \"three\" of you often as Lisa takes it in alongside of you my friend.

Marlene & Joe, enjoy your trip and I do hope you get a wink/visit/sign from Lisa very soon.
I understand...its the little things that make the reality hit. Ed and I always made the first call to each other to tell the other we had arrived safe when traveling...it hurts...I know. Love & peace, Linda
You\'re livin the life...or atleast until you return.lol. It sounds like a wonderful time. Enjoy every minute.
Enjoy all the wonders of exploring Quito and have FUN! You deserve to enjoy life and Lisa knows everything about you but it\'s hard to stop our usual routine. Oh how many times I waited for hubby Tim to come thru the front door \"after work\" was done. I realize as I tap type that his work is completely done now, and he\'s in his forever Home with an H for Heaven! Love, Donna
