hellish weekend
feeling the effects of the change in treatment of my diabetes type 2 was prescribed the Byetta pen, which is a major change as far as Im concerned. But it was surrounded by emotional stress that I really could have done without. I have a brother who for want of another word has evil, sadistic tendencies which he never fails to inflict on both me and my sister, who lives and cares for me alot as well as having to suffer with her own health issues. Its a long story but it goes back to the time my mum dies when I was 18 and my brother was only 4 years old,my sister only a couple of years younger than me,did our best along with my dad to keep things together the best we could. Now my brother who is now married, has nothing but resentment and hate for my sister and I,which in the ordinary scheme of things should not make much difference, but we invested alot of love during the years my brother was growing up and only ever did our best for him. We need help now that both our health is failing, but my brother who is in a good position to help, not only refuses to but adds insult to injury by hurling abuse at us at every opportunity. My sister is forever hopeful that by some miraculous miricale she will turn him into a wonderful supportive brother, but always ends emotionally battered by his cruel tongue. This weekend has been the final straw.....coming at a time when we both are on the floor emotionally, with me wishing I could die right now.....The wrath of his sadistic tongue has resulted in my crying all over the weekend andleaving me feeling drained. Im not sure how much more of life I can take anymore......

Hi Bluejeanz, my parents divorced when I was 2 yrs old, my father never wanted to be responsible for me or have any contact with me. My mom remarried with someone who did not love me. When I was 16 my mom started having a lot of health problems, and needed a brain surgery. I had to take care of the house, a 4 month old and 2 yr old baby half brothers. With an abusive stepfather. After the surgery my mom became alcoholic and abusive too and always kicked me out of the house, insulted me and hit me with anything she could find. She would not support me for school. I went hungry to school and sold handcrafts that I made to pay for my books, clothes, and food to eat at school. Sometimes I didn\'t eat and felt really hungry. I didn\'t leave the house because I did not want to leave my mom sick, I didn\'t want her to abuse my little brothers, she would hit them and yelled at them telling them that she was going to abandon them, or she was going to die soon. My grandmother and aunt and uncle wanted me to live with them in another state so that they could support me and send me to school. I didn\'t leave because I wanted to help my mother. I attempted to commit suicide at 16 and then at 19 yrs old. But then, one day someone in the street gave me a bible and found comfort in God. Still I had problems, but didn\'t feel lonely. I continued with my life with my abusive mother, and eventhought I could have left her, I stayed to help her. She always would tell me that she was angry that when she was in the hospital I would leave with my boyfriend (which I didn\'t have) and go out at night (lies that my stepfather told her). And who did she think that was taking care of her 4 month old baby who ate every 3 hours, and her 2 yr old son? My stepfather was not there, he sometimes said he slept in the hospital. She never thanked me for that, but instead insulted me by saying something that was not true, insulted me with bad words and hit me till I was 21 yrs old. I could have left, but I didn\'t do it because I thought she needed me. When I was 23 I met my husband, he came from the United States to Mexico and he loved me, we married 9 months after we met and have been married for 8 yrs. My mom cried and realized how much time she lost by hating me. She realized that my stepfather lied and sometimes he still does, I am happy I am not part of it. Now that I have my on children and see behind, and thanked God I didn\'t die when I attemted to kill myself. I realize how unprepared and brave I was raising and protecting my brothers. I made many mistakes with them that maybe left scars in their hearts. But after all I did my best and don\'t regret having helped them. I am sure that you also made mistakes, but after all you did your best, whether your brother sees it or not. Don\'t expect anything from him or anybody in return for the good that you give to them, because maybe you will be there waiting forever. Move on with your life and feel proud of what you did. Don\'t dwell in your brother\'s hurting words. Like I used to when my stepfather and mother\'s words attacked me and left my spirit like an old rag. Maybe selfishly, he is jelous that you got to know your mother more than he did and that life was unfair to him. Your brother will realize that what he is doing is unfair to you, don\'t allow his words to hurt you, he must be feeling hurt and unintentionally wants to do the same to you. Forgive him.
And support your sister, support each other. No matter how old you are, you can find somebody who will want to care for you and treat you right, God made us all different and you will find someone who is looking for somebody just like you. Cheer up! I wish you the best. Love. Abril
Sorry to hear about your story, families can do the worse kind of damage.
But although I sacrificed all my young days to my siblings, its not thanks I want, but more respect I guess.
I tend to avoid any dealings with my bro as his nasty Jekyll and hyde character really gets to me like nothing else can.
Its my sister I live with that has a hankering to try and turn him into someone she can rely on morally.
But you are quite right,I should move on,and I do long for the day that a special someone convinces me that the human race is not all rotten.
But deep down feel I have left it too late.
Thanks for your reply, its much appreciated.
Wish you joy and peace
Love Lyndajo
