Heavenly Signs

I'm a "newbie" to this site but not to the loss we all have in common.  My beloved David lost his 8 year batlle to prostate cancer 9/8/2011 just one day after our 31st wedding anniversary at the age of 63.  Becoming a 54 year old widow was never part of my plans but it is what it is.  A year later I still cry on a daily basis when I hear a certain song or come across something he gave me or just a memory of something he said or did.  I'm told these tears will someday turn to smiles but instead of getting easier, it seems just the opposite.  I MISS HIM SOOOOOO MUCH!  Anyway, I had him buried 3 miles from my house and for the first 6 months walked to the cemetery everyday.  It is a beautiful place on a lake with lots of trees.  I love praying and reflecting there and just when I'm most distraught, a beautiful white crane appears  It comforts me greatly with the thought that David sent him to me.  I don't always see him but he appears when I need him most!  Call me crazy if you want but I believe God sends us comforting signs when we most need it.  This is definately mine.  Have any of you had any heavenly signs sent your way?

Sorry for your loss. My husband passed away July 23, 2012. I am only 53 and didn\'t see this coming. I too see signs and they comfort me. God is my rock in this journey. This site has helped me so much. Welcome to the group that no one want to be in. Will keep you in my prayers. Marilyn

Thank you Marilyn and Iam so very sorry for your recent loss too. At 3 months I was still in major grief mode. I didn\'t do any decorating during the holidays and mostly just went through the motions. I visited the cemetery every day and wondered if I would ever feel joy again. A year later I still have everything in our house as it was. David\'s stuff is right where it always was and I don\'t forsee changing any of that anytime soon. Having his clothes, briefcase and other things around brings me comfort so that\'s how it will stay for now. I have realized that though a part of me has died , I must carry on until God is ready to call me home too. I would love to know about your story. Please feel free to email me anytime. Your in my thoughts and prayers too. Charlyn
